On day 1 of the new service, 185s 501, 502, 503 and 509 are out. Of interest the
185-CL-003 now sports the number 185.503, the 553 error having been corrected.

Des has covered the turns this morning and the numbers vary slightly from those
that Graham has been provided, no sign of 502 now, with Des having 508.

Nothing else overly noteworthy reported.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned in the FNM 189 diagrams is they also work
Milano-Verona on the EC's to and from Munchen, the diagrams posted in ERG files
I don't think reflect this, unless I misread them?.

The FNM189 diagrams in the files area were originally from OBB, and OBB diagrams
stop where OBB have no interest. eg nearly all the ski trains show the locos as
working to/from Munchen Ost or Munchen Laim, whereas they virtually all work
to/from other points within Germany. Likewise with the OBB version of the 101
diagrams that work EC's on Frankfurt - Munchen - Salzburg - Graz/Villach nearly
all die out at Munchen, despite being on push-pull sets with the locos working a
lot further in to DB. By contrast, the DB version of the FNM 189 diagrams all
stop at Brenner, with no visibility of them working in to Italy at all, so are
even less use than the OBB diagrams. Consequently, I have no idea what happens
with these EC's within Italy - I just type up whats in front of me without
adding in extra guesswork.

Visited the Berchtesgaden branch last week (26/27 Jan) - since 22 Jan an hourly
service is in operation Freilassing to Berchtesgaden - 3 diagrams - one of them
the top and tail 185s previously reported, the other two private (NEG and HLB)
Class 628/629 DMUs. A Freilassing to Bad Reichenhall shuttle also operates this
was a Vogtlandbahn Desiro DMU!



4 of the 5 BLB FLIRTS were parked at Freilassing



189s seen on EC trains were 189 994, 989,990,992 and 910. Of note 189989+189990
worked 1131 ex Muenchen on 27 Jan and were both powering as they left Muenchen



185s working Frankfurt to Wurzburg on 27 and 28 Jan were 185 552,554,556 and
557. 185 555 not seen



Saw 182 002 working a freight on 27 Jan - I thought this was one of the batch
with Regio at Cottbus?



2 new Belgian 18s seen outside the Siemens factory at Allach



110 409 seen at Frankfurt on 28 Jan on what seemed to be 1206 to Heidelberg RB

Finally - you can buy London Spezial tickets from DB ticket machines now [and
probably have been able to for some time but dont think its been mentioned here]
- 49 euro in 2nd and 99 in 1st one way from [or to] most German stations.
Tickets available 90 days in advance from machines or DB website

Hi there,

for all nightrain-fanatics here's the haulage of EN 241 on its way from Venezia
to Venice like it was hauled last weekend:

=> Venezia/Venice > Villa Opicina - E 402 B (FS)
=> Villa Opicina > Dobova - 342 (SZ)
=> Dobova > Gyekenyes - 1142 (HZ)
=> Gyekenyes > Budapest - V43 (MAV)

Contrary to the published diagram in the files section the HZ 1142 was on the
train till Gyekenyes (border station Croatia/Hungary - already in Hungary). It
shunted around the train and I think it then returned to Koprivnica as an empty
stock movement.

As published in the Trenitalia train file EN 241 is normally booked for a E 656
('Caimano') on the italian section up to Villa Opicina. So the E 402 B might be
an extraordinary except.

EC 45 ran somewhat late, hauled by 232 283 (instead of the expected 234 242
- which was itself supposed to be vice electric).

Reported as 110 late passing Erkner, with a pair of 218 8xx on rear, one of
which was 218 839.

The supposition is that the 234 burst, the 232 replaced it but was found to
be unable to heat the train, so the pair of 218s (which were in use as
pre-heating locos on Berlin Grunewald) were scrambled to attach to the rear.

The 218s came back on EC44 from Frankfurt - presumably they were cut off
there on the outward journey. I doubt that 218s are passed for Poland!. 232
283's return working was not stated - it may well have been EC44 too.



For good measure, the Russian sleepers D441 was 113 267.

course but returns Wed / ThO, Munchen times are 2202 - 2222 but I dont think the
train is routed via the Hbf on its return and the lok change is done somewhere
in the sticks so scoopers beware!

25 April sees an OGEG tour from Ampflwang to Aigen Schagl with 2050.05,
naturally traversing the connection from the mainline to Linz Urfahr. Details

PFT have announced dates for 2010 steam operation on the Bocq line from Ciney to
Purnode:-

July 3rd, 4th, 24th, 25th
August 14th, 15th
September 5th

NB: On 03/07, 24/07 and 14/08, trains only run between Purnode and Braibant,
i.e. do not serve Ciney. This means they must be top n' tail (with a diesel). On
the other dates a diesel will work Dorinne-Durnal to Purnode.

Narrow gauge first, timetable has not changed much, 0640, 0945, 1500 and 1830 ex
Dobrischte. Train numbers 16102, 104, 106 and 108.
Ex Septemvri at 0245, 0900, 1315 and 1814. Train numbers 16101, 103, 105 and

Timetable and traction summary.
New timetables have been posted at Fushe Kosove. Granica and Lesak have been
completely removed. 4100-3 are booked DMU, IC760/1 I believe are hauled, the
morning out and back Peja(Pecs) is UNKNOWN. IC890-3 hauled, NoHab Pristina to
Hani I Elezit, any MZ 661 to Skopje. As the OBB coach is not steam heat fitted,
non boilered engines can appear.
I believe the current fleet is to be as follows.
3x661 002 to 004, 4 Nohabs 005 to 008 and 1 modern shunter, 009. Rolling stock,
HK were given ten ex Swedish coaches but how many are still usable? Recent
additions have been 4 ex OBB opens and unfortunately they have 3 Swedish Y1
class single car DMUs. Kennedy 001 has long since been withdrawn, didn't see
NoHab 008 this trip. 006 had a covering of snow.

Thurs Jan 28th.
IC760 Peja Pristina NoHab 007 on 2 Swedish coaches.
IC890 NoHab 005 Pristina to Hani I Elezit, for MZ 661410 forward. 410 arrived
with a freight and had been turned in the previous 14 hours.

argument!
